Supervision

Finding the right fit in supervision can be just as daunting as finding the right fit in therapy. In supervision, I aim to create a collaborative and safe space for supervisees to explore, reflect, and grow in their practice, utilizing their individual strengths and internal motivation to achieve supervision goals. Supervision will be used for the purpose and goal of completing training requirements of either the supervisee’s educational institution or provincial licensing body where the supervisee practices; and/or supervision will be for the purpose of promoting professional and personal development as a counsellor/therapist. Other goals and purposes of supervision may be established mutually and agreed upon by both the supervisor and supervisee.

Supervision will function to mutually construct and create reflective feedback on the supervisee’s work performance; to oversee the supervisee’s practice and to initiate supportive / corrective action as required; to support the development of the person of the therapist work; and to collaboratively explore issues related to conceptualization, assessment, intervention, professionalism, ethics, advocacy, and social justice as it pertains to the supervisee’s work with their clientele.

I have been practicing in a variety of clinical settings for almost ten years, including community run programs, group practices, and private practice, offering counselling to children, families, couples, and individuals. My approach is primarily based in attachment/developmental, experiential, trauma-informed, and systems-based theories. I particularly utilized emotionally focused therapies, experiential processing exercises, and expressive and integrative practices. I have had additional training in EFT, EFFT, EMDR, STST, sandtray, and Neufeld theory.

I am an approved supervisor with the NSCCT, and an ACS Candidate with the BCACC. If you are looking for a supervisor, please feel free to reach out with any questions to see if I may be the right fit for your growth and development!
